AgrowSil® outperforms aglime in Butler County PA field test for corn crops
For Pennsylvania farmer Dave Jones, from Butler County PA, a good yield on his corn crop can make the difference between a good year and a bad year.
So when Harsco offered to conduct a like-for-like field test on a small plot of his land comparing AgrowSil and regular aglime, he agreed.
The test resulted in an increased yield of 3 bushels per acre using AgrowSil.
By spreading 2 ton of AgrowSil per acre, he achieved 55-57 lbs. per bushel (compared to 53-54 lbs per bushel for the plot using aglime).
The test results didn’t surprise Farmer Jones, because he has been an AgrowSil user for a while. In 2014-2015, a year when heavy rains and a cooler growing season would have predicted lower overall corn yields and quality, he has increased his profits on 800-acres of corn crops by $17000 - even after deducting the cost of AgrowSil.
AgrowSil is a silicon-rich alternative to aglime, which increases crop growth and quality, at affordable prices ($4.50/ton). Like aglime, AgrowSil will neutralize soil acidity and supply Ca & Mg.
